Barcelona cyclist caught on video riding slipstream of a bus at 80km/hr [Video]

A daring or should we rather say stupid cyclist was caught on video, riding at 80km/hr behind a bus through a road tunnel in Barcelona.

The cyclist was “drafting the slipstream” to ride at speed through the tunnel and a motorist captured the scene, along with clearly showing the speed traveled on his car’s speedometer.

Needless to say, don't try this at home. It is reportedly illegal, anyway, to ride a bicycle on the B-10, or Ronda del Litoral, in Barcelona, but that doesn’t stop many cyclists using the extremely dangerous practice to ride behind trucks or buses to increase their travel speed. If they are spotted by police, they are normally escorted off the road.

According to the Local, sources from Barcelona City Hall have confirmed that so far the cyclist has not been identified. Reportedly this is due to the fact that local police patrols didn’t spot him and speed cameras failed to register the incident as the cyclist wasn’t traveling over the maximum speed limit.
